Riva Junior

Presented at the Genoa Boat Show in 1966 as the "bomb of young people", the Riva Junior is a very valid example of a versatile motorboat capable of combining the familiar aspect with the playful one linked to the practice of sea sports. Carlo Riva's goal is to create a boat that is easy to steer and maintain, so as to allow its owners (even younger ones) to safely practice activities such as fishing and water skiing, enjoying sea life to the fullest. There are several elements that make this model unique, starting with the orange peel white enamel painted bulwarks, typical of the American utility vessels of the Sixties. Another singular aspect is the shape of the stern which, instead of being barrel-shaped like the classic Riva runabouts, has an outward overhang so as to protect passengers from the spray of the sea in downwind gaits. A further peculiarity are the bollards which, instead of being traditional cleats, are ring-shaped to make any hauling/launching operations easier. Like all Riva motorboats, the Junior also included important owners of the international jet set including Brigitte Bardot, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.
The model in question was launched in 1967 and is in good overall condition. The engine has been completely overhauled and serviced.
It is therefore a boat ready to the buoy and does not require major interventions.
More information available on request.

The deck layout includes a single large cockpit that can be easily walked on standing protected by the bulwarks and refined mahogany handrails fixed on chrome-plated bronze supports and ends. The engine hood is in the central area of the cockpit and serves as a base for housing a mattress that connects to the aft seats, thus becoming a single large sunbathing area. Forward of the engine compartment, in addition to a practical wooden shelf, are the pilot and co-pilot seats that serve the characteristic automotive-derived wheelhouse protected by a wrap-around windshield on a chrome profile. Elegant and distinctive of the Shipyard, are the color combinations of the vipla upholstery focused on the cream shades of the dashboard and turquoise shades of the seats, backrests, joker and sunbathing mat
